Ouroboros explores loops and circles using performance. The show itself was named after the legendary serpent Ouroboros, a giant serpent who eats its own tail. The show utilizes cycles to demonstrate that there is never a conclusion to a loop. History will always inevitably and immutably repeat itself over, never stopping, never slowing. Each section of the circle that lights up increases the time of the piece and number of performers on stage.

Ouroboros was created as an ensemble piece. The previous Co-Lab was created with every group performing separately. However, this time around, this piece wanted to include everyone's talents in the performance. Different elements of light, sound, and bodies moving in the space provided give life to the story that is being told.
All the performers initially collaborated separately in order to come up with ideas of what kinds of performances we could do. The groups were all composed of individuals who were in the same groups. For example, if A, B, and C were in the same group for the 3rd scene, they would go ahead and devise a scene together and then get together with the individuals from the 2nd and 4th scenes to debrief. Within the debriefing, the groups would set how some people exit/enter, as there may be people within the next/previous scene who are also a part of the current scene being discussed. A complex process, but it worked out nevertheless. Using this strategy, the process became easier as the groups got larger. Eventually, the group incorporated most of the people who were performing into a single, large performance.
In the end, the process, although difficult and heavy, became lighter as rehearsals went on. Coordination was key for some scenes, and safety was paramount. Some of the individuals were not present for the later scenes as they had to exit out due to health or personal reasons.

Inspired by the legendary serpent that eats its own tail, the cycle of the seasons, life and death: CoLab 2 is a devised work in twelve parts. Starting in the twelfth astrological house, the zodiac sign of Pisces, and moving backwards toward the vernal equinox, the performance explores cyclical form as a lens on the world and our experiences within it.
