Ralph Waldo Emerson
As a graduate student at the University of Nebraska, my academic and professional journey has been deeply rooted in environmental education and ecological research. With a passion for exploring the diverse ecosystems of Nebraska, I have developed educational materials that engage 6th-12th graders, helping them connect with nature through interactive projects and activities. I’ve had the privilege of working on several projects, including creating an interactive map to showcase Nebraska’s ecoregions, developing webinars to introduce career opportunities in climate-related fields, and collaborating with experts on initiatives to bridge the generational gap in agricultural extension. My career path reflects a dedication to fostering ecological literacy, enhancing student engagement, and promoting sustainable land management practices.
Outside of my professional work, I am an avid advocate for inclusivity and community engagement. As the founder of the nonprofit organization ‘Disable the Label,’ I am committed to raising awareness and supporting people with disabilities through events and outreach programs. In my free time, I enjoy immersing myself in creative activities such as fly tying and making sourdough. I find balance in spending time with family and friends, exploring nature, and cultivating a love for lifelong learning. My personal journey is about creating meaningful connections, whether through volunteer work, outdoor adventures, or fostering relationships that uplift and inspire.
