Project Description
For this lesson I searched for an image, audio, gif, and video. I had to conceptualize the licensing to ensure I was sharing the content ethically.
I used the Creative Commons website to search for images of the "Chesapeake Bay" on flickr .
I downloaded the original size versions from Flickr and then uploaded them to my website.
This image is shared under the CC BY-SA 2.0 DEED. Which means anyone can:
Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for any purpose, even commercially.
Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.
Although users must adhere to the following terms;
Attribution — You must give appropriate credit , provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made . You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
ShareAlike — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.

"Chesapeake Bay Work Boat" by mikeporterinmdis licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0 DEED.
I searched on Google for "downloadable audio file on ocean waves" to find this media above. After downloading as an mp3, I uploaded onto my google drive to then copy that URL and embed onto my ePortfolio.
This image is shared under the CC0 1.0 DEED. Which means:
The person who associated a work with this deed has dedicated the work to the public domain by waiving all of his or her rights to the work worldwide under copyright law, including all related and neighboring rights, to the extent allowed by law.
You can copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission. See Other Information below.

"Sea: waves" by DenisChardonnet licensed under CC0 1.0 DEED.
I searched on google for "sailing gifs" and found a classic. I copied the embeded code and pasted onto my ePortfolio.
I searched the website for my use permissions and found:
Giphy SDK License Agreement;
use, install, run, perform and display the SDK for the sole purpose of developing Applications
Although users must adhere to the following terms;
Licensee may not, directly or indirectly, make, rent, lease, sell, offer to sell, modify, adapt, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, create derivative works, or derive the source code of the SDK or any part of the SDK
Distribute, transmit or provide the SDK or any Application to any third party, except as expressly permitted by this Agreement, without the prior written consent of Giphy
Use the SDK for performing comparisons or other “benchmarking” activities, either alone or in connection with any software (and Licensee will not publish any such performance information or comparisons).

"Popeye the Sailor" by Boomerang Official under Giphy SDK License Agreement
Video (embedded from a video service)
I was sent this video by a friend and searched again to copy the embeded code to paste on my ePortfolio.
YouTube took down their licensing information on each video a few years ago. I found some information on their Terms of Service page.
License to YouTube
By providing Content to the Service, you grant to YouTube a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable license to use that Content (including to reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works, display and perform it) in connection with the Service and YouTube’s (and its successors' and Affiliates') business, including for the purpose of promoting and redistributing part or all of the Service.

Lessons Learned
This lesson helped me better understand the challenge and ethical dilliema of downloading digital media. I found a wide range of access from the artist having no limitations to needed to give appropriate credit to the artist. I can get behind giving credit where credit is due.
