The Backstory:
Lynn grew up doing band and chorus in her small town in Western Massachusetts and attended UMass Amherst to study flute performance and music education. She shared her junior recital as a flutist with oboist Rebecca Thomson under the guidance of Christopher Krueger, and she performed on piccolo across the United States and Canada with the UMMB under the direction of George Parks.
Upon college graduation she got a job teaching music in the public schools and found herself without much time or energy to make her own music as she poured herself into what others needed of her in the full time role as well as her many side hustles (camps, small group and private lessons, etc). She eventually realized she missed identifying as a musician but didn't want to jump back into the Western Classical Music world she left behind in college. She tried doing the coverband thing as a second vocalist, but playing in bars late at night wasn't what she was chasing. Finally, after nearly a decade's hiatus, she has settled on only accepting gigs that resonate with her values and interests, and has resumed making music for her soul and to share her soul with others.
