The Action Shooting events at Izaak Walton are low key events where people come to work on their shooting skills. Our primary rule is safety and our events are designed to promote fun, learning, practice, and camaraderie. We welcome all shooters regardless of their level of experience!

Have you ever wanted to do more than just practice shooting at a static paper target? Have you heard about our events but don't know how to get started? This is the opportunity for you! This event allows you to learn and practice the basics that you will need to be safe when participating at one of our events. At this event you learn how to safely draw from a holster, shoot on the move, practice reloading from a magazine pouch, shoot at moving targets, turn and shoot, and so much more. The goal is to get you familiar with the skills you need so you can feel confident and safe at one of our other Action Shooting events.

We have several Action Shooting Practice days throughout the year. This is a time to hone your skills or learn something new. Many people go to the range and only practice shooting at a paper target. At this event you can take it to the next level by drawing from a holster, shooting moving targets, steel targets, shooting on the move, and so much more!

If you like to 'Run, Gun, and have Fun' then our Action Shooting matches are for you! What makes our matches great is they are geared towards shooters of all levels! At our match, we set up a few scenarios that contain doors, windows, walls, and moving targets and let you shoot them while focusing on speed and ACCURACY! These scenarios are similar to events that you would find at an IDPA or USPSA match.
