Established in January 1941, one of the ways the Lynchburg, Virginia Chapter has striven to fulfill the IWLA mission is through the development and maintenance of our Walton Park recreational facility. Located in Amherst County just north of Madison Heights, Walton Park covers 325 acres and includes a campground, swimming and fishing lakes, picnic areas, playgrounds, and shotgun, rifle, pistol, and archery ranges.

The next required Range Orientation will be held on Sunday October 11, beginning at 1:30 PM in the Park Clubhouse . Please PRE-REGISTER by return email or call to 434-821-4175 before 8 PM Friday(we print materials only as needed) . Bring ID, a pen, and verification of NRA membership(attendance w/o NRA is OK but we may hold up access until verification is in hand) .

A fun, precision .22LR match featuring three steel gongs at 300 yards -- 8", 6", 4".
Shooters fire 10 rounds per stage (5 stages) aiming to impact the gongs and rack up points. The smaller the gong, the more points it's worth!
It's all about precision, patience and reading the wind -- and you don't need any fancy gear. Just bring your .22LR, bipod and rear bag and give it a shot!
Open to the public $20 entry fee (cash only)
Gates open - 8:00am
Safety Briefing - 9:00am
Zero confirmation - 9:15am
Rounds Down Range - 9:30am
