Welcome to Izaak Walton League of Lynchburg!

We are part of the Izaak Walton League of America, a non-profit national conservation organization with a mission, "To conserve, maintain, protect and restore the soil, forest, water, and other national resources of the United States and other lands, to promote means and opportunities for the education of the public with respect to such resources and their enjoyment and wholesome utilization."

Established in January 1941, one of the ways the Lynchburg, Virginia Chapter has striven to fulfill the IWLA mission is through the development and maintenance of our Walton Park recreational facility. Located in Amherst County just north of Madison Heights, Walton Park covers 325 acres and includes a campground, swimming and fishing lakes, picnic areas, playgrounds, and shotgun, rifle, pistol, and archery ranges.

Attention Club Members:

The Executive Board has contracted a lawn care company to maintain the grounds approximately every two weeks throughout the season. In addition, there may be other contractors or maintenance crews working on club property from time to time.

For the safety of everyone involved, when contractors or maintenance crews are actively working on the property, all shooting activities must cease until they have completed their work in the area. This includes trap & skeet, archery, rifle, and pistol ranges.

Please allow all contractors and workers to do their jobs safely and efficiently. Any concerns or issues regarding these policies should be directed to the Executive Board — not the contractors or their employees.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we work to keep the club grounds maintained, improved, and safe for all members and guests.
