Based on a deep desire to serve the children and citizens of Johnston County, Lyn Andrews has filed to run for the Johnston County Public Schools Board of Education.
“I am completely and totally committed to the citizens and especially the children of Johnston County. It is with this commitment that I desire to announce my intentions to run for a seat on the Johnston County Public Schools Board of Education.”
As a retired educator and administrator, Lyn has over 30 years of experience in our school system. She has served as a teacher, coach, administrator and retired as the Director of the Exceptional Children Programs. She currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Campbell University, working with future teachers. She is a graduate of Smithfield-Selma High School, Peace College and Appalachian State University. She holds a Masters of Education degree from East Carolina University. She also has a Masters in School Administration from North Carolina State University.
“I fully understand the challenges that our public schools face today. My greatest desire is to help our school system be the best it can possibly be. When we are a united body of educators, parents, families, and citizens, the degree to which we can support and positively impact the lives of our students is limitless.
I know firsthand how hard our teachers and administrators are working. I also know that every parent and guardian wants what is best for his or her child.
The students who walk into our schools each day are the future of our community, our state and our nation. They have a right to receive the very best possible education, and they have entrusted that possibility to each of us.
A school board is a group of individuals who have been entrusted to be community stewards. To be good stewards, we have to be make decisions that are focused on one thing – the students in Johnston County Public Schools.
I am forever grateful for the many blessings that God has granted to me. One of my most precious blessings is the opportunity to work for and with the citizens of Johnston County and the next generation.”
