SI PROJECTS OF THE YEAR 2025-2026
The LFDS- ASD Exchange Project: A Friendship That Grew All Year
Perhaps the most quietly powerful — and ultimately most spectacular — initiative of the year was the full exchange program between CM1-SI classes and the American School of Douala (ASD). What began as pen pal letters blossomed into a rich, multi-stage journey of friendship and cultural discovery that spanned the entire school year.
It started with carefully crafted letters and handmade Christmas cards, as our CM1 students put their hearts on the page — practising language skills, sharing their lives, and discovering that connection comes in many wonderful forms. The written exchange alone was impactful enough, but it was only the beginning.
In January, the friendship became face to face when ASD students visited our campus. CM1-SI students welcomed their pen pals with open arms, engaging in shared activities that encouraged collaboration and gave both groups a fascinating glimpse into each other's educational worlds. The warmth and excitement in those hallways was unforgettable.
Then in March, the exchange reached its triumphant conclusion: our CM1-SI students visited the American School of Douala on Friday, 13 March. Practising English in an authentic, real-world context, experiencing a different school environment, and reuniting with friends they had first met through letters — it was a milestone moment that captured everything the International Section stands for. This beautiful, year-long project broke down barriers, built lasting friendships, and showed our students that the world is far more connected — and far more welcoming — than it might seem from a classroom window.
CP Peace Project with Teacher Nina – A Joyful Journey!
September was a month of peace, creativity, and collaboration in CP! To celebrate the International Day of Peace, our young peace ambassadors teamed up with Teacher Nina for a heartwarming project that brought smiles, songs, and powerful ideas to life.
They sang songs of peace that filled the classroom with hope and harmony. They held mini debates about what peace means , from playground kindness to world unity! They created colorful posters with doves, hearts, and messages of love. They exchanged presentations with CM2, sharing their thoughts and learning from their older peers. And of course, there was picture fun time , capturing joyful moments and proud faces!
