My work is poetry with mostly rhyming words. It relates to the theme because it is about how I can change the world by being a Marine biologist.

I am Megna and I really like this topic because it coincides with unity day. My vision for the world would be for all children to have equal opportunities. I have seen hungry kids back in my county who aren't as fortunate as me. I want to make this world a place where that kid on my street has every right and privilege that I have.

I got inspired to write my essay by seeing extraordinary images of children living in poverty in India, Congo, Afghanistan, and Syria. My heart felt that I wanted to change the world by ending the poverty they are living in. I also got inspired by Hillary Rodham Clinton’s book called, “It Takes a Village”. I learned from her quote in her book that we need to help each other. Then, I realized that changing the world takes a village.

I Will Change the World By inventing a solar powered car. I’ve always wanted to be an inventor because I wanted to make the world a better, more eco-friendly place. The solar panels on top of the car will provide energy for a mechanism that sucks in air and blasts it out the rear end of the car like a rocket. The solar powered car will change the world because if everyone drove that car, less coal and gas would be burned.

The theme is "Will Change the World by…" My idea will literally change the world because it would reduce the amount of pollution and make a place where people and animals could live without destroying any habitats or any of its species. It would also allow nature to grow back. I wrote this narrative to show that if adults would listen and support ideas that kids have then maybe we could change this world for the better. A documentary called "Planet Earth" and my desire to stop pollution inspired my ideas.

I will change the world by being kind. I got inspired by the book, “Each Kindness” by Jacqueline Woodson. In the story, the main character, Chloe, refuses to be kind to the new girl, Maya, just because she was different. In my poem, I describe how just one act of kindness can impact someone in many ways, and then that person will be inspired to brighten someone else’s day. Just like the ripples of water in “Each Kindness”, the kind deeds will keep growing and growing, changing the world, and shaping it to become a better place.
