PTA organizes fundraising and income-generating activities to support all PTA-planned programs, events, and operating needs throughout the school year.
Our primary fundraiser is the Bubble Run, which is the largest fundraiser of the year. It is a week-long online donation drive that ends with an on-campus Bubble Run event day. During the fundraising week, students gather pledges and earn fun incentives, then participate by running or walking laps on a track set up at school.
An outside vendor partners with PTA to coordinate and carry out the Bubble Run. The vendor provides and manages the online fundraising platform and supplies all student incentives and prizes, including free student shirts for those who raise $25 or more. The vendor also provides planning support, reports, scripts, supplies, a kick-off assembly, daily character lesson videos, and runs the Bubble Run event day itself. Incentives and prizes provided by the vendor include rewards for participation and donation milestones, classroom achievements, and event-day running accomplishments by grade level. The vendor keeps a percentage of all pledges, and online credit card processing fees are paid at checkout. Bubble Run proceeds fund most PTA programs and operating expenses for the year.
PTA also coordinates two product-based fundraisers: Spirit Wear and Yearbooks. These are giveback fundraisers in which PTA receives a small portion of each item sold. Proceeds from these fundraisers help offset PTA operating costs.
Pizza Nights are grade-level beneficiary fundraisers held once per grade. Families raise funds through meal purchases, raffle tickets, and flat donations, with raffle prizes donated by families. After food and drink costs are deducted, the remaining net profit stays with that grade level. PTA provides all other event supplies. Teachers decide how to use these funds for materials, supplies, or enrichment that benefit students in their grade, and all reimbursements follow established PTA guidelines and approval procedures.
In addition to fundraising, PTA also receives income that is not considered a fundraiser. A portion of PTA membership dues stays with our unit to support operating costs. Book Fairs generate credits for the LVH Library to purchase books and materials. Carnival ticket and wristband sales help cover the cost of running the Carnival, including entertainment, activities, decorations, and supplies. Food trucks at Carnival and Trunk or Treat provide a small percentage of their sales to help offset event costs. PTA also receives funding through individual donations, corporate donations, and qualified sponsorships.
