Inspiration by Youth

The Music Program at Lumination New Mexico is dedicated to bringing the joy and enrichment of music education to Native American youth and underprivileged students across New Mexico—especially those in remote areas with limited access to arts education. Recognizing the gap in hands-on music opportunities, Lumination New Mexico’s founder, Kate Shao, has taken the lead in offering online music classes to bridge that divide.

Despite the challenges of distance and limited local resources, Kate’s virtual piano lessons have brought enthusiasm, creativity, and inspiration into the lives of her students. The children have responded with joy and engagement, participating actively in both classes and special music events. This program reflects Lumination New Mexico’s belief that every child deserves access to meaningful artistic experiences—no matter where they live.
