Ryan Wing is the Director of Bands at Lufkin Road Middle School. Mr. Wing is the Fine Arts Department Chair at Lufkin Road Middle School, serves as the Middle School Member-at-large on the North Carolina Bandmasters Association East Central District Board, and serves as the WCPSS Middle School All-County Honor Band Clinic Chair. He grew up in Holly Springs, NC and is an alumnus of the Lufkin Road Middle School Band Program.

Mr. Wing completed his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from The University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2023. While in Utah, his primary conducting teachers were Dr. Rebekah Daniel, Dr. Don Peterson, and Dr. Brian Sproul. During his time at The University of Utah, Mr. Wing was a performing member of the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Marching Utes, Utah Philharmonia and various chamber groups. He served as Drum Major for the Marching Utes for 4 years, including 2 performances in the "Tournament of Roses" Parade and "Rose Bowl" Game in 2022 and 2023.

As a conductor, Mr. Wing actively participates in conducting symposia throughout the United States. He has worked with notable conductors such as: Dr. Travis Cross, Mr. Jerry Junkin, Dr. Donald McKinney, Mr. Allan McMurray, Dr. Kevin Sedatole, Dr. William Staub, Dr. Mallory Thompson, Dr. David Thorton, and Dr. Emily Threinen. 

Mr. Wing’s bands consistently earn Superior ratings at the North Carolina Bandmasters Association Music Performance Adjudication. In 2026, the Lufkin Road Middle School Symphonic Band was an Invited Ensmeble at the Music for All Southeastern Regional Concert Festival hosted by Georgia State University and in 2025, the Lufkin Road Middle School Symphonic Band performed at the Music for All Mid-Atlantic Concert Band Festival at the University of Maryland, College Park. 

Mr. Wing was recently awarded the "Young Director Award of Excellence" by the North Carolina Bandmasters Association East Central District. Mr. Wing was also a 2025 recipient of the "Ed Rooker ENCORE Award" presented by the North Carolina Chapter of the American School Band Directors Association (ASBDA). Mr. Wing has twice been recognized by the National Band Association with a "Citation of Excellence" in 2025 and 2026. 

Under Mr. Wing's direction, the Lufkin Road Band Program frequently participates in commission and consortium opportunities for the young wind band. In May of 2025, the Lufkin Road Middle School Symphonic Band gave the world premiere of Tyler S. Grant's "Arc of the Storm", dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of Lufkin Road Middle School. Recent and future artistic collaborations include Katherine Bergman, Steven Bryant, and Tyler S. Grant.

Mr. Wing’s professional affiliations include the North Carolina Bandmasters Association, North Carolina Music Educators Association, National Band Association, and National Association for Music Education. 

Outside of school, Mr. Wing serves as the Assistant Conductor of the Middle School North Carolina Youth Wind Ensemble, maintains an active Clarinet studio in the Triangle area, and performs clarinet with the Triangle Wind Ensemble.

Mr. Wing loves being back home at Lufkin Road Middle School, a program that holds a special place in his heart. Go Lightning and Go BAND! 

Jaylan Glenn is the Percussion Director for the Felton Grove High School, Holly Springs High School, Lufkin Road Middle School, and Middle Creek High School. He is very passionate about the developmental stages of young musicians. He loves to challenge his students to grow both as individuals and musicians through a diligent mindset. Jaylan hopes to be a safe space for his students and build a home for inspiration and extraordinary growth. He believes that being a musician means speaking a very special language that has the ability to touch a heart without ever saying a word.

Jaylan has been a Private Percussion teacher for a decade. His private students stretch between Johnston and Wake County, covering about 8 schools from intermediate levels to advanced and mature collegiate level percussionists. His private students have been very successful, participating in their respective All County, All District, All State honors bands, and achieving goals in top percussion ensembles in the WGI and DCI idioms. Prior to joining Felton Grove, Jaylan was the percussion director at Corinth Holders High School, where he built the only scholastic world class percussion ensemble in the state of North Carolina. He also works with a rotation of middle schools in the Johnston County, Cumberland County, and Wake County area to help develop musicianship and pedagogical experience in a master class learning environment. Jaylan is the Timpanist for the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra, and plays occasional drum set gigs throughout Clayton, and Raleigh where he plays (but is not limited to) Jazz, Funk, and Rock!

Outside of the Pageantry Arts, Jaylan works as a Security Specialist, managing and training bouncers and supplying private security as needed to musical artists, and taverns. To stay connected within the pageantry arts, Jaylan is an active member of the WGI Advisory Board and CWEA Advisory Board, where he helps adjust adjudication for educators and performers to enhance the general experience within the pageantry arts.
