Description: This project describes the impact of social media on society and us students. It also helps you determine what your relationship is with social media.
Social Media Addiction Quiz
The results I got on the social media addiction quiz said that I have a healthy relationship with social media. It said that I prefer to live in the moment and not in the apps. I believe that these results are accurate because I decided to take a break from Instagram and I was able to do just that.
Interesting Social Media Statistic
The most interesting social media statistic was the one where it shows the use of online platforms by demographic group. I thought it was interesting because it surprised me since most people use YouTube more than every other social media platform. I thought since more kids and adults are using social media where they post things like Facebook and Instagram, they would be using those more but I guess everyone uses YouTube since there is such a wide variety of content. This statistic relates to me because I am a part of the groups like being male and in high school that use YouTube the most.
Social Media's Impact on Society
In my opinion, social media right now is negatively impacting society. People's ideas and common sense are being easily swayed just from what they see on the screen. I believe that the government uses social media as a tool in order to push their agenda. They were effectively able to do this during the time of the election when people were locked in their homes and were unable to communicate with each other without being angry about things they could not control.
Lessons Learned
I learned more about my relationship with social media and I was assure that I was on the right path. I was also able to learn what social media is used the most by certain demographic groups.
