Costume and Makeup Designer
Growing up I have always loved drawing, painting, and creating my own characters. I knew I was an artist from a young age and looking back at my younger artist, the part that stood out the most to me was how much I cared about clothing. In my original characters I put so much time and creativity into their outfits. For other people’s characters I would redraw their costumes with a new twist or prompt. Little me would never know that I could make that into a future and career.
Once I got to high school my ninth-grade theatre teacher, Mr. Alexander, told me my designs were exactly what theatre was looking for. After that I turned to costuming and makeup, thriving in it. My first designs were simple from their original concepts, but after discovering a love for art history and art movements they began to influence my costume designs. I love designing my costumes based off the art movements during the time a play or musical takes place and creating kitschy, campy, designs, influenced heavily by the eccentric, queer, and the drag parts of life.
I love art and art loves me, therefore I hope to pursue art and costuming while hopefully doing entertainment law. Although my true dream is to become famous for my outlook and creativity in design.
