Hello, everyone!Β
I'm Luchen, a teacher from Indonesia, and I'd like to share my story about my amazing one-month adventure in Chiang Mai, Thailand, as part of the SEA-Teacher Project.Β
It was an unforgettable educational journey!
Chiang Mai, a city where tradition meets modernity, culture thrives, and the spirit of learning is ever-present. Join me as I recount my unforgettable journey during the SEA-Teacher Project, a month-long adventure that left an indelible mark on my life.
As I disembarked at Chiang Mai International Airport, I was welcomed by warm smiles from fellow participants, all eager to embrace the rich experiences that lay ahead. The excitement in the air was palpable.Β
The first time I walked into a classroom in Chiang Mai, I felt showered by the warm smiles of these Thai children. They were not only receptive to new learning, but also shared their stories and traditions with me. I learned so much from them, not only about the subjects, but also about the cultural values they uphold.Β
Outside of the classroom, we explored the wonders of Chiang Mai. The colorful local markets were our favorite spots. We sampled delicious dishes, from spicy Tom Yum to sweet mango sticky rice. Each dish reflected Thailand's rich flavors and natural ingredients.Β
Our trip also took us to beautiful temples and historical monuments. We felt the serenity at Wat Phra Singh, contemplated the architectural greatness at Wat Chedi Luang, and explored the natural beauty around Mount Doi Suthep. Each of these places gave us a deep insight into Thailand's history and spirituality.Β
However, the most valuable of all this was the exchange of ideas among us, the SEA-Teacher participants. We come together to discuss education, find solutions to classroom problems, and support each other in our experiences. This cooperation transcends national boundaries and languages, proving that education is a universal language that connects us all.Β
This month was not only about teaching and learning, but also about building deep relationships with the community and fellow future teachers. This experience has opened our eyes, enriched our souls, and improved the way we see the world. I will always carry these wonderful memories back to Indonesia, and I am sure, my friends from the SEA-Teacher Project feel the same way.
SEA-Teacher Project: An educational journey that opens doors to cultural exchange, personal growth, and global collaboration. Together, we weave stories of success in the classroom and beyond, creating a trail that will last a lifetime.Β
