Washing your hands with soap removes germs from your hands. This helps to prevent infections because people frequently touch their eyes, nose and mouth without even realizing it. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, germs can get into the body through these areas and make us sick. During the Coronavirus Disease 19 (COVID-19) pandemic, it is especially important that we keep our hands clean to help prevent the virus from spreading.
