Career awareness is a program targeted at our senior students (4th form) and our sophomore (2nd form) students. Career awareness is an essential first step to help students to get a better idea of their strengths and interests and to help them to understand the working world. The program introduces senior students to different job opportunities along with its required qualifications to acquire specific jobs or careers. On the other-hand, career awareness is also a program designed to assist our sophomore students with identifying their interest to help them to select their area of study for their 3rd and 4th form years at Ladyville Technical High School.
Post-Secondary Awareness is Ladyville Technical High School's very own college fair. This program gives our 4th form students an in-depth look into college/university life and the work-force after leaving high school. Post-secondary assists our senior students with selecting which option is best for them after high school based on their interests, long-term goals and other factors.
Self-Esteem Awareness Day is designed to help students to harness positive feelings within themselves to help to boost their self-esteem. In recent years, self-esteem awareness day has become a time to uplift our students internally and externally. Self-esteem refers to a person's ability to see themselves as worthy, valuable and composed. Our students are reminded that nurturing is a part of our mission.
Bullying Awareness Week is an entire week dedicated to the eradication of bullying on Ladyville Technical High School's campus. The week's events entails poster campaigns that discourage bullying, our annual 'Chalk-up Against Bullying,' where our students are monitored as they draw anti-bullying messages on the walkways of our campus with chalk. The week also includes guest speakers who encourage students to be kind to each other and discourage rude, mean distasteful behaviour, positive daily quotes and bullying Q&A.
The annual Students' Retreat is held each year in October on two Fridays to accommodate the entire student body. LTHS retreats are designed to bring our students back to their center and allows them to reflect on what they have been doing and what they can do differently for the rest of the semester.
The Health Fair is held once a year for our students and staff to learn about healthy living and healthy mentality. The health fair includes informational booths on the flu, diabetes, kidney health, sexual health, drug use, mental health, dental health, fitness and healthy eating.
Drug Awareness is usually held once a year and is facilitated by NDACC and the K-9 Unit of the Belize Police Department. The program aims to help students understand the dangers of drug use along with the legal implications of illegal and underage drug use.
