Most people like to move more into a leadership or teaching roles that can help them develop their skill set for when it comes to going for promotion. Great roles to try for progression is; NPAS/DSU/PSU Trainer where you teach and train other officers or a Training officer with R&D helping train the next generation of response officers. Response are currently developing a new mentorship scheme for the current PCs to assist and mentor newly promoted PCs which will also be great oppertunity to progress within response. This scheme is expected to be introduced in 2024. - AW
How do I log evidence with the new system?
There is a great guide that was made when this system was released; 'The 2023 New Forensics and PNC Guide'. The guide goes over all the new items that were added and how to correctly link casefiles and reports as well as how the forensics work with videos that demonstrate the system with real examples. Keep in mind the forensics section will not work for you if you are not IIT forensic trained. - AW
Transferring to firearms in an exciting opportunity and for the most part firearms will train you for most of your roles. Joining firearms does not mean you lose the ability to patrol as response, that option and uniform will still be available to you. However, if you are trained in both NPAS AND DSU, you will have you give up one of those sub-divisions. If you were a part of IIT in Response then you will lose your level 4 forensic training and be put back to level 1. You will also lose your PSU sub-division regardless of what level you were. You will keep your advanced driver training. - AW
No, this can not be done. You must write out a report for your suspect and the situation with the correct charges and attach the relevant evidence links in the report. The MG11 should only be used when providing a witness statement for another officer or your own case where your BWV corrupted or was not turned on. Just writing an MG11 and then putting it on an blank report in not acceptable. - AW
