Aniceto C. Orbeta Jr. is Emeritus Research Fellow of PIDS and the immediate past president of the Institute, where he has served as a Senior Research Fellow since 1992. An economist with expertise in applied economic modeling, impact evaluation, education and labor markets, social protection, demographic economics, and information and communication technologies, he has authored numerous publications in these fields.

The evaluation of the MTB-MLE program conducted by PIDS in 2018, together with the Department of Education, spurred his interest in language in education.

Dr. Orbeta earned his PhD in Economics from the University of the Philippines School of Economics and completed postdoctoral studies at Harvard University.
