Associate Professor Lisa Lim is the Director of Engagement and Development for VinUniversity's UNESCO Chair in Environmental Leadership, Cultural Heritage, and Biodiversity, with senior academic and leadership experience across Asia, Europe, and Australia, including roles at the National University of Singapore, University of Hong Kong, University of Sydney, and Curtin University. Her research focuses on language contact and evolution, particularly Asian Englishes in multilingual settings, language shift and revitalization, endangered languages, sociolinguistics of globalization, and environmental linguistics. She is the author and editor of Languages in Contact (Cambridge University Press, 2016) and The Multilingual Citizen (Multilingual Matters, 2018), shortlisted for the 2019 BAAL Book Prize, and serves as a longstanding consultant to the Oxford English Dictionary for Singapore and Hong Kong English, while writing the "Language Matters" column for the South China Morning Post since 2016.
