LOS SANTOS POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, often abbreviated to the 'CVPI' is one of the most iconic vehicles in the LSPD fleet. This vehicle is used on a daily basis by the vast majority of officers. The Police Interceptor is equipped with an external oil-to-engine-coolant oil cooler to reduce engine oil temperatures, allowing the vehicles to operate at high rpm/high loads for an extended period of time without the risk of engine oil overheating and subsequent engine damage.
The 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Utility, the older brother of its 2016 successor, is one of the vehicles in the LSPD Fleet that has been with us over the years and you can see it more often than not, you may even sometimes see a worn-out variant of this FPIU on the streets patrolling to represent our hard work here at the LSPD, or even a K9 livery to show our Canine Division. Compared to the 2016 FPIU, The Police Interceptor Utility comes with an all-wheel-drive powertrain standard. Over a standard Explorer, the Utility is fitted with larger brake rotors, more advanced ABS and traction control systems, a more efficient cooling system, and other standard police equipment.

You may see variants of this vehicle with the K9 livery, representing our Canine Division and while the 2011 Crown Victoria is iconic, this vehicle is reliable all around. There is a specific reason why our vehicles can outperform most civilian vehicles in the case of a pursuit: performance specs. Most retail versions of the civilian Ford Explorer come equipped with a 300-horsepower, 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine. You may also have noticed that this variant allows for a SETINA ram bar attached to the front of the vehicle. It follows the same specifications being the 285-horsepower, 3.3-liter V6 engine.
