Jazz Band & Small Ensembles

Jazz Band

The LRHS Jazz Band uses the standard Big Band instrumentation and rehearses and performs music from the Swing Era as well as current Big Band music. The LRHS Jazz Band performs public concerts and school and civic events as invited. Membership of the Jazz Band is composed of Concert and Symphonic Band members. The group is co-directed by a student officer and Mr. C.

Brass Ensembles

The LRHS Brass Ensemble(s) uses standard ensemble instrumentation and performs high-quality small ensemble repertoire. The LRHS Brass Ensembles perform school and civic events as invited. Membership is composed of Concert and Symphonic Band members. The groups are conducted by a Student Officer who serves as the Symphonic Band Brass Ensembles Director.

Woodwind Ensembles

The LRHS Woodwind Ensemble(s) uses standard ensemble instrumentation and performs high-quality small ensemble repertoire. The LRHS Woodwind Ensembles perform school and civic events as invited. Membership is composed of Concert and Symphonic Band members. The groups are conducted by a Student Officer who serves as the Symphonic Band Woodwind Ensembles Director.

Percussion Ensemble

The LRHS Percussion Ensemble uses standard ensemble instrumentation to perform and compete across the state. Membership is composed of Concert and Symphonic Band members. The groups are conducted by a Student Officer who serves as the Symphonic Band Percussion Ensemble Director.

Color Guard

Auxiliary is an audition-only art sport that incorporates body movement including dance and manipulation of equipment such as flags, rifles, and other props. The visual effect of this group enhances the marching performances of the Symphonic Band. All members of the Auxiliary must be members of the Symphonic Band.
