"The truth is:
libraries are raucous clubhouses for free speech, controversy and community.” ~ Paula Poundstone
Solano College Library philosophy
Every student deserves access to the tools and information that empower them to share their unique knowledge, perspective, experience, and solutions.
The SCC Librarians want your experience with the library and the research process (and us!) to be a positive, supportive one.
Although we are online, we hope you see and feel our presence as your partner in your learning process.
We want to hear from you, work with you, and improve this course because of you.
Technology has taken over the information landscape; librarians are the wranglers of this landscape and we want you to feel like you have a librarian in your corner should you decide you could use a hand. Additionally, knowing how to navigate a library and its resources is a superpower that we want all students to wield because information is the fuel that stokes the fire of our brains, of our voices, and of our efforts when we engage with the world around us to enact change.
Our hope and goal is that you finish this semester with a view of yourself as a scholar, an asset, and as an agent of change for your own world. Your thoughts, ideas, and words are valuable contributions to the information landscape!
