There are five elected officers of the guild. Each post can be held by more than one person: President, Vice President, Program Director, Secretary, and Treasurer. The current officers are:
President: Wendy LeDioyt
Vice president: Jean Pauls
Program directors: Janine Krueger, Betsy McCollister, Rae Mead
Secretary: Mary Ellerbusch and Rae Mead
Treasurer: Janice Potratz
There are many other positions of leadership within the guild. These are appointed by the president. Committee chairpersons serve on the Board of Directors. Many committees have subcommittees made up of additional members. The following gives a little snapshot of the many roles that keep our Guild providing the great opportunities members have. These are great ways to get to know others in the Guild.
Feel a little nervous about participating in this way but are curious? Remember - you are not alone; you do not have to do it on your own.
To see who are currently in these leadership roles, members should view the Guild Guide provided each year and the monthly newsletters. Members may work together to co-chair or manage portions of committees.
Historian: Keeps records and scrapbooks of guild's activities and events.
Membership: Collects membership dues. Compiles the guild directory and keeps it up to date. Responsible for the nametag gifts
Newsletter: Responsible for compiling materials appropriate for each publication of the newsletter. Responsible for printing and distribution of each publication.
Publicity: Responsible for promoting and publicizing group activities. Writes and places notices about meeting dates and related guild events for the local newspaper, etc.
Hospitality: Greets any guests and introduces them at the meeting. Assists in Show and Share.
Refreshments: Responsible for bringing beverages to the guild meetings and keeping the supply of cups, napkins, etc. Needs to be at the meeting early.
Sunshine: Responsible for sending out cards to people who need a little sunshine in their life.
Boutique: Responsible for tracking items and soliciting members for items to sell at quilt shows. Manages Boutique area day of show.
Pricing: Responsible for determining what to sell the Boutique items for. Works closely with Boutique committee.
Auditing: Audit financial records of the guild and submit record to the guild president. Three members selected each year.
Nominating: Prepares a list of nominees for offices. Secures consent of the individual to serve as a candidate. prepares ballots and conducts the election.
Special Events: Plan the annual Christmas party that is held in December and/or planning the Picnic andn Rummage Sale in July in place of our monthly meeting. Members volunteer each year.
Quarter Chance Drawing: Responsible for purchasing items, collecting money, and distributing prizes to winners.
Raffle Quilt: Responsible for sewing raffle quilt to raffle off during quilt shows.
Fly-In Quilt Show: Responsible for appointing committees, conducting meetings, and overseeing plans for the quilt show.
Charitable Giving: Responsible for coordinating the Guild's charitable giving as well as scheduling monthly open sew days.
Social Media: Responsible for designing and updating Guild's website, Facebook page and Instragram accounts. Responsible for taking pictures during show & share and uploading to social media sites.
Librarian: Maintain the Guild's Lending Library.
