Loxio User Guide

1. Getting Started

Creating an Account

You can sign up for Loxio using your email address or by connecting your Google account. During signup, you will be asked to create a unique Username. This is your identity on the platform (e.g., `@loxio.team`).

Customising Your Profile

Go to the Settings tab (Gear icon on your Profile) to:

• Change Profile Photo: Upload a new image.

• Edit Bio: Add a short description about yourself.

• Update Username: You can change your handle, provided the new name isn't already taken.

2. Navigating the Feed

Loxio offers three unique ways to view content around you. You can switch modes using the floating selector at the top of the Home screen.

📋 List Mode

The classic vertical scroll.

• Smart Sorting: Posts are ordered based on a combination of Proximity (how close they are), Freshness (how new they are), and the Loxio Score of the creator.

• Ads: You may occasionally see native ads interspersed with user content. These ads help pay for the day to day running of Loxio and support the Kalium Foundation!

🗺️ Map Mode

View posts pinned to their real-world locations.

• Tap a pin to see a preview of the post.

• Tap the preview to open the full post details.

Note: Map mode only displays content within a 25km radius of your current location.

📷 AR (Augmented Reality) Mode

Hold up your phone to see posts floating in the real world.

• Posts appear as bubbles overlaying the camera view.

•  This mode helps you find exactly where a photo was taken

3. Posting & Content

Tap the + (Plus) icon in the navigation bar to start creating.

Supported Media

• Photos: Upload directly from your library.

• Videos: Upload videos up to 60 seconds in length. Videos play automatically on loop in the feed.

• Text Posts: Share thoughts with colorful gradient backgrounds.

Text Styling

When writing text posts, you can customize the look:

• Fonts: Choose from styles like Classic, Elegant (Serif), Code (Monospace), Note (Handwritten), and more.

• Formatting: You can use Markdown-style toggles for Bold and Italic text.

Filters

For images, Loxio provides built-in filters (e.g., Sepia, Vintage, Chrome, Noir) to enhance your photos before posting.

4. Verification & Authenticity

Loxio prioritizes real, unfiltered life. When you upload media, our system analyses the file's metadata to determine its status.

✔ Verified Original: The media has valid GPS data and no traces of editing software. It is 100% authentic.

🪄 Processed / Edited: The system detected editing software (e.g., Photoshop, Snapseed) or AI modifications in the file metadata.

Unverified: Standard upload. The file had no GPS data or was a text post.

5. Loxio Score & Ranks

Your Loxio Score is a measure of your influence and authenticity on the platform.

How to Increase Your Score

1. Post Verified Content: Authentic photos taken at different locations yield the highest points.

2. Get Active: Receive Stars (likes) and Comments on your posts.

3. Consistency: Regular activity keeps your score healthy.

Ranks

As your score grows, you will unlock new badges that appear next to your name. Higher ranks give your posts a "multiplier," pushing them higher in the local feed.

🥈 Silver: 5,000+

🥇 Gold: 10,000+

🏆 Champion: 50,000+

⭐ Platinum: 100,000+

6. Linking Up & Privacy

Linking Up

Loxio uses a mutual connection system called Linking.

• To Link: Go to a user's profile and tap the "Link" button. They must accept your request.

• Messaging: You can only Direct Message (DM) users you are Linked with.

• Feed: Linked accounts have an exclusive feed for you to view your personal linked content

Private Accounts

You can toggle Private Account in Settings.

• If Private: Only users you have Linked with can see your posts, bio, and location.

• If Public: Anyone nearby can see your posts in the feed.

Location Sharing

• Linked Users: By default, your Linked friends can see your "Last Known Location" on a map on your profile.

• Hiding Location: If you set your account to Private, your location map is hidden from everyone, even Linked friends, unless you explicitly allow it (feature pending).

7. Safety & Moderation

Blocking Users

If you block a user:

• They cannot see your posts.

• You cannot see their posts.

• Any existing "Link" is removed.

• They cannot message you.

To Block: Go to their profile → Tap the `...` menu (top right) → Select Block User.

To Unblock: Go to Settings → Account → Blocked Users.

Reporting Content

If you see content that violates our guidelines:

1. Tap the `...` menu on the post.

2. Select Report.

Our team reviews reported content and removes posts that violate community standards.

Profanity Filter

Loxio automatically blocks offensive language in comments, captions, bios, and usernames. You will receive an alert if you try to post prohibited words.

8. Troubleshooting

"Waiting for GPS..."

If the feed says "Waiting for GPS":

1. Ensure you have granted Loxio Location Permissions in your phone settings.

2. Try refreshing the feed by pulling down on the list.

Upload Failures

• Missing Location: If your photo doesn't have GPS data, Loxio will ask to use your current device location instead. This will mark the post as "Unverified."

• Video Size: Videos must be under 60 seconds. Longer videos will be rejected.

Account Deletion

If you wish to permanently abandon Loxio, go to Settings → Scroll to bottom → Tap Delete Account.
