What is Loxio?

Loxio is a hyper-local social media application designed to show you what is happening right now, near you. Unlike other platforms, your feed is determined primarily by your physical location, allowing you to discover authentic content from your immediate surroundings.

How do I sign up?

You can create an account using your email and password. Alternatively, for a faster login experience, Loxio supports "Continue with Google", "Continue with Microsoft" and many others. During signup, you will be asked to create a unique username.

Why does the app ask for my location?

Location is central to the Loxio experience. We use your GPS data to:

1. Show you posts from users nearby.

2. Verify that photos and videos were actually taken at the location claimed (Authenticity).

3. Allow "Linked" friends to see your last known location on a map (if you choose to link).

Can I share posts?

Yes, you can share posts internally to a Linked friend via chat, or use the system share sheet to share outside the app.

How does the Feed work? 

The Loxio feed uses a "Smart Sort" algorithm. It prioritises content based on:

• Distance: Posts physically closer to you appear first.

• Language: Content in your device's preferred language gets a boost.

• Engagement & Time: Recent posts and posts with high engagement (Stars/Comments) from high-ranking users appear higher.

What are the different viewing modes?

 You can view the feed in three ways:

• List: A standard vertical scroll of posts.

• Map: See nearby posts pinned to a map.

• AR (Augmented Reality): Use your camera to see posts floating in the real world around you (within 1km).

What do the checkmarks and badges on posts mean?

Loxio emphasises authenticity. You will see these statuses on posts:

• Green Checkmark Seal (Verified): The media has original, unedited GPS data confirming it was taken at that location.

• Blue Wand (Processed/Edited): The media contains metadata suggesting it was edited (e.g., Photoshop, Instagram filters) or is AI-modified.

• Unverified: Standard uploads or text posts without specific GPS metadata.

What kind of content can I post?

You can upload:

• Photos: Apply filters  add captions and post the exact loctaion.

• Videos: Must be under 60 seconds.

• Text: Up to 1000 characters with styling options (Bold, Italic, and various fonts like Typewriter or Handwritten).

What is "Linking"?

Linking is Loxio's version of "friending." It is a mutual connection. When you Link Up with someone:

• You can message each other.

• You can see their private posts.

• You can see their last location on their profile map.

Can I make my account private?

Yes. You can toggle "Private Account" in the Settings. If your account is private, only users you have Linked with can see your posts and media.

How does the Location Map on profiles work? 

If you are Linked with a user, you may see a map on their profile showing their last location.

• If the user has a Private Account, the map is blurred and covered with "frosted glass" for privacy, giving only a general idea of location rather than a pinpoint.

How do I block or report someone?

• Block: Go to the user's profile, tap the menu (three dots), and select "Block." They will no longer see your content or be able to link with you.

• Report: Tap the menu on a specific post to report inappropriate content.

Who can I message?

You can only send messages to users you are Linked with. If you are not linked, you cannot start a chat.
