Groups of Interest, called so as not all are hostile to The Foundation, are a major consideration or concern depending on their goals and how they achieve them, from groups that create anomalous objects due to thinking it is cool to subject Humanity to terror for internet good boy points to groups which seek to outright annihilate anonymous entities and items. Here is a list of the known Groups of Interest which operate on or near Site Aurora. It must be expressed that due to the open availability of the Database and to keep things short, not everything is said.
The first group known to operate near Site Aurora, the Serpent's Hand is a small, militant and leaderless so-called "Resistance" organization dedicated to compromising the secrecy of all Anomalies and forcing their integration in our societies. Most members of this group are anomalous themselves or are in close contact with anomalous individuals or objects, so are completely blinded by their attachments to these anomalies so seek to be able to live freely with them exposed to the world, somehow thinking that normal people won't panic and that conspiracy theories won't start seeing as not only entities beyond imagination exist but some may grow powerful off that fear such as governments and anomalies, and it will further cause chaos once the world knows their leaders have lied to them for hundreds of years, adding fuel to many conspiracy theories and destabilizing societies around the globe. They view us in The Foundation as 'Jailers' as we secure, contain and protect anomalies in our facilities so will launch raids in an attempt to release them into the wild or to take them with them.
The Global Occult Coalition, should it ever show up near Site Aurora, is not to be considered a hostile group unless any incidents deserving of that status occur. The GOC and The Foundation, while rivals, cooperate as to secure and protect the survival of Humanity as the two major groups responsible for it, save for the Horizon Initiative which is seen as the third most prominent group yet cannot hold a candle to either of us. Most controversially in the Paranormal world, while others seek to integrate anomalies or keep them hidden, the GOC seek to eradicate them by any means possible, something we do only when necessary.
Should relations remain neutral or cordial thanks to the External Affairs Department, nothing will happen. Should they become and remain positive, things such as Joint Task Forces and greater cooperation will be possible. Should relations fail however, the GOC and Foundation may find themselves at arms with each other yet again, something which both sides and the world want to avoid.
The Chaos Insurgency, which may simply be called The Insurgency, is an old yet still ever-present threat to The Foundation, carrying out a worldwide gruella campaign against us for [REDACTED] reasons. Most information about them is classified and or unconfirmed, at least here due to this Database being accessible by the entire Site. What can be said however is that they seek to steal SCP subjects for undetermined reasons, abduct personnel to hold prisoner or recruit into their ranks, especially the Class-D personnel, and put the world in great danger whenever they manage to perform a major and even remotely successful strike on one of our containment facilities due to the high chance SCPs may be purposefully and or accidentally released due to their actions. Their infiltrators are also problematic as they know The Foundation well, and a reward program for information that leads to the capture of one or more exists.
