Our Vet

We are no longer offering ear cropping. We do however recommend Carroll County Animal Hospital. Their fee is between $350-$400. They do not ear crop until around 12 weeks old. Keep in mind the longer the cut, the longer the posting process will be.

Information regarding ear cropping:

    • Stitches need to be removed 7 days from surgery date, if you leave their stitches in too long this can actually make their ears curl. Please keep in mind once the stitches are removed they will look worse; this process will reopen their scabs. Please do not put anything on their ears including alcohol, neosporin, etc. without your veterinarian's approval. Any signs of infection please contact your vet, to make sure antibiotics are not needed.

    • Do not start posting your puppies ears until they are fully healed (no scabs visible). This is generally two weeks from surgery date. If you do not wait, this increases the risk of infection.

    • Every puppy is different on how long their ears will need to be posted. Do not post their ears too long, doberman's ears will meet in the middle if they are posted too long. We recommend posting 3 days on, and then resting 2 days off. Repeat as needed.
