Welcome to the "Love Your Ear" website! As an aspiring Speech-Language Pathologist, my goal is to educate my readers on how to love your ear. We cover the entire auditory system, as well as the anatomy, pathology, and physiology of the ear. Get ready to enhance your hearing knowledge and Love Your Ear!

Some topics we will cover are:

A brief overview of the auditory system
How hearing is measured
The gross and fine anatomy of the temporal bone, outer ear, and middle ear.
The function (physiology) of the temporal bone, outer ear, and middle ear as well as how it contributes to hearing.
Possible pathalogies that can affect the temporal bone, outer ear, and middle ear systems.
We will also give examples of hearing losses that may be consistent with pathologies discussed.

About me

My name is Sarah Mathes and I am so excited to be teaching you guys to love and appreciate your ear. I am a 20-year-old Hearing and Speech Sciences major and minoring in Disability Studies at the University of Maryland! I am hoping to become a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school one day helping young children.
