An alumni of the pioneering Hotel Management institute in India and close to 4 decades in the industry having worked with leading Brands in India and abroad, have had exposure to every facet of hotel operations and Sales.
Exposure in opening hotels in the last 10 years has given me the confidence in running individual units as successful & sustainable business enterprises. This comes primarily from finding the right people and putting systems and processes in place to sustain them.
Known to successfully employ technology to improve business outcomes, this is still a passion and is the future of conducting the business. In my last assignment in Fortune hotels, my primary role was providing operational support to all 46 hotels in the chain through a team of functional HOD’s operating out of ITC Hotel Division Headquarters in Gurgaon with all GM’s reporting into my office.
The focus of the support covered operational excellence, product development, F&B including FSSAI compliance, environment health and safety, recruitment, etc. Also covered all aspects of pre-opening of new hotels from project handover to launch.
In addition, had additional responsibility to handle the sales function for an extended period of time. The use of Salesforce.com to manage the sales teams located in 13 cities, GDS restructuring, OTA reporting and streamlining, etc were key success stories in this area.
