EmberStar is very glad to have a deputy as skilled as Sweetwater. She knows that without her the clan might not be as satisfied with their roles. But she doesn't understand why Sweet didn't take the place of deputy sooner. Nonetheless, she’s glad that she got the place initially.

At times SweetWater will get upset with her when she "tries too hard" and this annoys EmberStar. This can make her rethink Sweet being the deputy, as EmberStar wants a deputy that wants what's best for everyone. It also ticks her off when her deputy can, at times, act like she's in charge.

SweetWater is the only cat who knows that her actions caused EmberStar to become leader. She knows and accepts that EmberStar is her leader, but sometimes regrets not taking her opportunity. She knows that she did the right thing though, even if she sometimes feels that she would be a better leader.

She can also get really upset with EmberStar when she is fooled, or tries too hard for peace. But she quickly gets over it, most of the time. However, she will snap at her leader, however only if none of the other clan cats are around. Because she knows she must keep up her reputation, with her clan, as a loyal deputy.
