The Yoder Scholarship

The Yoder Memorial Scholarship honors the ministry of the Rev. Henry O. Yoder. A scholarship of $500 originally and $1,000 currently is awarded annually to a second, third, or fourth year undergraduate student at the University of Michigan and/or Eastern Michigan University. Recipients are active participants in the U-M Lutheran Campus Ministry. The scholarship was first awarded in 1983-84 to two recipients – Nancy Kaufmann and Glenn Merz. There have been [need #] awardees since then including Madison Evans, the most recent recipient for the 2017-18 academic year. These annual scholarships are a fitting tribute to Pastor Yoder’s entire ministry but especially to his dedication to the value and importance of educational programs as a key component of campus ministry.
