One of our goals for the LOOOP is to provide teachers with the knowledge, resources, and opportunities to facilitate student-led investigations and stewardship in their local watersheds. Through your involvement with the LOOOP, students will learn valuable skills and knowledge through place-based and hands-on activities in the classroom and be able to connect to their local community, the greater Lake Ontario basin, and to one another.
Fill out the form below to sign up for our email list. We will email you about new opportunities for students and teachers offered by the LOOOP or by our community and regional partners!
We often partner with OCMBOCES to provide interactive workshops about watersheds and environmental science. Check to see if there are any upcoming opportunities here!
Teachers can request to borrow supplies and equipment needed to conduct scientific, outdoor investigations with their students. These free resources can be used to monitor streams, water quality, and weather using standard protocols accepted by scientists and environmental organizations.
LOOOP chats are virtual or in-person discussions with classrooms and/or student-clubs related to environmental science, jobs and volunteer opportunities, or cultural connections to our watersheds.
The LOOOP offers students the opportunity to submit completed academic or stewardship projects to a watershed-wide virtual showcase. Visit the Showcase page to learn more!
