The Lake Ontario, Oneida, Onondaga Program aims to provide high school teachers with the knowledge and resources to facilitate student-led investigations and discussions about environmental issues and stewardship relevant to the Great Lakes Basin.
UFI developed this web application to show users REAL data from local waterways!
Users can view a time series of data collected via our equipment loan program. These data were collected by students or youth who were investigating stream health or monitoring weather patterns. The plots are interactive, allowing users to highlight points and generate a table of information. The map shows all of the locations where data has been collected. If you'd like to contribute to this application, check out our Equipment Loan Page for more information and submit stream data using this form.
You can access this interactive site here!
LOOOP promotes a student-centered approach to inquiry-based learning, allowing students to develop their own questions and take an active role in their own learning. Students are invited to participate in virtual discussions to learn more about the local environment, gain unique perspectives from people within the Lake Ontario watershed, and connect with other students other students during "LOOOP Chats". Students can also be involved by following the project on our project's social media account.
