The Longfellow PTO is a nonprofit that exists because families support the PTO
The PTO is committed to providing:
Curriculum enrichment funding for every class (field trips, in-school programs, and garden programs)
Classroom supplies funding for all students
Support to the school to help students and families have their basic needs met
Community-building events - free for all families throughout the year
Teacher and staff appreciation events every season and much more
To support a welcoming and inclusive environment for all, we have only two fundraising requests per year, Longfellow Partners and the annual Laps for Longfellow walk/run. This allows the PTO to spend more time focusing on programs like free community-building events.
The Longfellow PTO is essential in providing the resources and enrichments our children need to thrive at school. Longfellow School receives limited district funding for field trips, in-school enrichment activities, and classroom supplies, the PTO helps to bridge this gap through Longfellow Partners.

Here’s how it works: when you become a sustaining monthly donor to the Longfellow PTO you may choose to provide your ongoing monthly gift with a credit card, debit card, through PayPal, or directly from your bank account via electronic funds transfer (ACH).

LAPS FOR LONGFELLOW
In-school Walk/Run
Laps for Longfellow is a walk-run event each fall, during school, led by the Longfellow specials teachers (music, art, and gym) and the Longfellow PTO. Laps for Longfellow is one of the two major fundraisers for the Longfellow Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Laps for Longfellow is usually held the last Tuesday in October.
On the event day, every student will have the opportunity to complete as many laps as possible in 20 minutes. Note that sponsorships are not on a per-lap basis; it’s a simple “flat” sponsorship.
Students will have the month before the event to raise funds from family, friends, and neighbors to support the Longfellow PTO. The goal for the event is to raise funds for the school.
Funds will be used to support curriculum enrichment, school supplies, community-building events, and much more - benefiting every student at Longfellow school.
