LEARN MORE ABOUT CUB SCOUT PACK 75
LONG BEACH, LAKEWOOD & SURROUNDING AREAS, CALIFORNIA
Cub Scout Pack 75 runs an active program that you do WITH your Scout. Our adults include parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, guardians, etc. who get the opportunity to be hands-on at all meetings and activities. They experience the fun, meet new friends, and make unforgettable memories right alongside their Scout. While Cub Scouts is designed for boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade, you'll see all age groups at our events as Pack 75 tries to be as sibling friendly as possible since we all know the struggle of juggling kids and finding babysitters.
At Pack 75, Scouts meet twice a month - once with their specific grade level (these are called Den Meetings) and once with all kids in kindergarten through fifth grade (these are called Pack Meetings). Pack meeting activities have included building robots with the Long Beach Poly "Rabbotics" team, visits from the Lakewood Police & Fire Departments, sock drive "snowball fights" for charity, practicing table manners with a professional butler, learning to make bruises and scars with a special effects make-up artist, flying paper airplanes with the Red Bull World Paper Airplane Champion, and more. Den activities vary by grade level, but focus on instilling a love for nature, showing commitment to community, and building leadership skills.
We also offer many optional activities each month including hiking, camping, community service, and social events so you can be as busy (or NOT) as works for your family. YES - kids CAN do Scouts and sports, dance, music, etc.! We are also active in the summer, attending baseball games, kayaking, etc., unlike some Packs that go dormant when school is out.
We average about 50 families and are typically one of the larger Packs in the area. We have families from public, private and homeschool groups throughout Long Beach, Lakewood, Los Alamitos, Signal Hill, Bellflower, Buena Park and beyond. While our meetings take place at a Lutheran private school we are not affiliated with the church and have families from a multitude of faiths.
Some people have the misconception that you HAVE to join the Pack closest to your home or school, but this is NOT the case. We suggest that new families check out a few Packs to see which one feels right to them and we welcome you to join us our next Pack meeting!
