Wouldn't a single set of Trustees be too remote, with too much power held by too few people?
We envisage each Trustee keeping in regular touch with about three Local Meetings, including their own. Trustees would delegate some responsibilities to committees. Trustees would consult with and report regularly to the Area Meeting, and be held to account by the AM in session (see Qf&p 15.08 and the rest of Chapter 15).
How would a single set of Trustees ensure that over 30 Local Meetings are compliant (e.g. safeguarding)?
They would have support from staff, and the AM would provide training, templates and advice to relevant local Friends. If each Trustee keeps in regular touch with about three LMs, that would also help.
