Dear Lodovica, we recently saw you on TV playing in 'Squadra Mobile. Operazione Mafia Capitale' but a few weeks ago a rumor said that you will be part of Paolo Sorrentino’s new movie 'Loro', that will come out in the cinema in the next months. In the cast your name is next to great actors, such as Tony Servillo, Riccardo Scamarcio, Elena Sofia Ricci and Ricky Memphis. Shall we call it your golden age?
Yes, I must admit that 2017 had the best ending for me. It was a great year professionally and personally.
Even if you are a public figure you always preserved your private life. All we know is that you are engaged and that you are not gossip-addicted. Is that right?
Yes, you are definitely right. I confirm every single word you said. I always considered pathetic flaunting private life and yes I happily live with my boyfriend.
2017 was such an important year for you even because you were cleared of all charges related to complaints made by ex tennis player Giorgio Galimberti. At that time he received a disqualification of 100 days for betting and ATP asked him a compensation of $ 94.000 for the appeal rejected by the sporting judge. Can you tell us something about this senseless story?
I have been acquitted for lack of evidence after 8 years of trial (specifically at the end of 2016). They invented that I sent my photos, that actually were on my ex’s pc, to his girlfriend. All sorts of lies. As I already said to media, I broke up with Galimberti when he received the disqualification from ATP, Association of Tennis Professional. We were together as a couple no more than a few weeks in 2007. Moreover, in that period I was in Miami to shoot Claudio Risi’s movie with Massimo Boldi 'Matrimonio alle Bahamas' (Medusa Film), and he came there to visit me but he left the day after. When they fall in love men just don’t think anymore. However, I feel betrayed by the national judicial system; I suffered for 8 years, even if I was innocent, because this trial and the media slaughtered me with false news.
There is also another matter. In 2009 you were victim of an assault and as a victim you were suspect in a criminal proceeding. Shall we talk about it?
Italy must change about this kind of matter. Let’s think about what people said or thought about the Weinstein case of sexual abuse. In Italy being a victim of an assault or an abuse could make you become a victim of the judiciary system too (even if it is supposed to defend you condemning the perpetrators). But it doesn’t. People might think: “Maybe she just had it coming” or “She provoked him” or even worse “Why didn’t she leave when she had the opportunity?” and so on...This is just a media blast, a way to blame the victim. I was tried and I was cleared from all charges because I was innocent. Media had fun trying to manipulate the reality with false news (“She was sentenced to 6 years” or “She is facing imprisonment” and so on). It was all fake news, because as I said I was cleared from all charges and I have no criminal records. I spent 10 years of my entire life trying to defend myself from false charges and especially trying to get justice for what I suffered. I don’t want to talk about it anymore, my family and I suffered a senseless attack from media.
Despite these sad experiences you look great, you have plenty of ideas and generosity projects. You founded an Association to fight violence against women called 'IO NON CI STO'. You shared your story with other abused women, did it help you in your recovery?
It was essential to my balance and recovery. When I launched my Association 'IO NON CI STO' on TG5 my life completely changed. From the day of my aggression in those four years I felt so heartbroken and sick of everything. Thank God I have two amazing parents and lots of friends that always support me. My boyfriend is my rock. The truth is that I felt misunderstood. Nobody could ever understand what I was going through in that period except those who had my same drama. The day I introduced on Canale5 my Association 'IO NON CI STO' I received hundreds of mails sent to the Association email address. I read of terrifying stories and I am honored to have helped these women. Sometimes I just met them to spend time together sharing our stories but I helped others women to build up a new life. This is the reason why I don’t respect all the women (V.I.P. or not) that ridiculed or offended who reported an abuse.
You recently wrote a book entitled 'Cuore Africano (African Heart)' and it will be released very soon. There are lots of your pictures and drawings inside it. Actress, musician, artist and so on. Are you an all round artist?
I hope so. I inherited my music passion from my mother and the love of writing from my father, even if I still have to work on it to reach his level!
