Lochman is still a young project. We’re just starting to gather its people, places, and traditions — and one of the best ways to do that is through food.
The Lochman Community Cookbook will be part real recipes, part community storytelling. It’s a way to bring people into the town’s life while keeping the table open for new voices.
This first cookbook won’t be polished or finished. Think of it as the start of a conversation — and you’re invited in from the ground floor.
All we’re asking for is a beginning:
Send in a recipe you love. Everyday food, special occasion dishes, comfort meals — whatever feels right.
Add a short story or note. This could be a real-life memory, a made-up slice of Lochman life, or even just a sentence or two.
Suggest a character connection. Choose from our growing cast, or invent someone new you think belongs in the town.
That’s it. You don’t need to finish the story or polish it up. We’ll help shape what you send into something that fits with Lochman’s world.
If you want a little structure, here’s a simple format:
Recipe title
Ingredients + instructions
Story or note (real or fictional, any length)
Character connection (existing or new)
Your name (as you’d like to be credited)
And if you only have the recipe? Send it anyway. Russell can help with the story part so it aligns with Lochman’s voice.
Submit your recipe and story draft to russell@lochmantx.com
Lochman may be fictional, but like any small town it only feels alive when many voices contribute. This cookbook is our way of inviting more people to help shape the community from the very start.
There’s always room at the table — and right now, there’s plenty of space to make it your own.
