Task 3 Discussion - Multimedia
Purpose
The purpose of this video was to demonstrate all the steps to make a loaded tea. I wanted to show my audience how easy and fun tea making is, so my son helped me choose the flavors and sat with me while I went step by step through the process.
Audience
My intended audience wants to learn to make loaded teas at home with or without caffeine. I think that moms of young children would enjoy my website and making teas because they are usually tired and looking for a convenient, budget-friendly way to add caffeine and fun to their routine. The teas are also a great way to provide a fun treat for their children. The graphics I chose are appropriate for this group because they are bright, whimsical, and informative for sleepy viewers.
Software
I edited my video using Microsoft Video Editing software. I chose that software because it was already on my computer, and I found it easy to work with despite little prior experience editing videos. Once my video was edited, I uploaded it to YouTube to share with my viewers.
Process
I took my video using my Samsung S20 Camera App.
I shared the video from my phone to my Google Drive so I could access it from my desktop computer.
I opened my laptop’s Microsoft Video Editor app to edit the video.
Click the blue “New video project” button in the top left corner and type a name for your video in the pop-up window.
Click the blue “Add” button in the top left corner, choose “From this PC” in the dropdown and choose the video you want to edit from your computer file.
Drag the video from the “Project Library” box at the top to the “Storyboard” box at the bottom.
To add a title slide to the beginning or end of your video, click “add title card” at the top of your storyboard. A blue box will pop up, and Right-click on the blue box and choose “edit.”
In the top right corner, you can type the title for your video and choose a style for the text. I chose “Adventure.” Click “done” at the bottom of the screen when you are finished.
When you are ready to export your video, click “Finish video” in the upper right corner, then click the blue “Export” button. Type in a file name and choose a folder where you want to save your video to your computer.
My last step was to upload my video to YouTube for sharing.
Click “Your Videos” on the left side of the screen.
Click the white and red “Create” button on the top right side of the screen and choose “Upload videos” in the drop-down menu.
Click the blue “Select Files” button, browse your computer to select your video, and click “open.”.
Add a title to your video. Select your audience.
Click Next three times.
Choose if you want your video to be public or private. I made this video unlisted so that I could share the link on my website, but it isn’t searchable for anyone else.
Click “Save,” and your video should be ready in a few minutes.
To find the sharable link, click the three dots next to your video, and it will give you the option to copy your sharable link.
Conceptual Framework
I make these drinks several times a day, so I know the steps well, but I did want to have my framework set out before I started the video, so I didn’t forget to explain any of the steps to the viewer. I gathered my materials before I started the video and set them out in order according to my framework to help me keep track of the steps as I filmed.
