Task 2 Discussion - Graphics
Purpose
I used four different images on my site.
The photograph showed the audience an example of one of my favorite layered teas and the color separation that can be achieved through careful technique.
The scanned image was a drawing my son made of one of my loaded teas; he likes how I create layers of different colors. The purpose was to provide a little interest and whimsy for the reader.
The third image was created in Microsoft Paint as a diagram to show the reader the basic construction of a loaded tea.
The final image shows the reader my favorite brand of caffeinated drink mix to make it easier for them to recognize in a store. I found the image on 4c.com.
Audience
My intended audience wants to add more caffeine during the day in a convenient, inexpensive, fun, flavorful way. I think that moms of young children would enjoy my website and making teas because they are usually tired and looking for a convenient, budget-friendly way to add caffeine and fun to their routine. The graphics I chose are appropriate for this group because they are bright, whimsical, and informative for sleepy readers.

Painted image:
Original: I opened the Microsoft Paint program on my touchscreen laptop. I used the fill button () to fill in a background color, then used the line, circle, and arrow shape tools at the top to create my cup and arrows, adjusting the colors as desired using the color menu. I placed each shape and chose the size by clicking and dragging the screen.
To make the colors of my drink, I clicked the dropdown arrow under Brushes to change to an airbrush effect, then chose my desired color. I used the stylus on my touchscreen to color in the layers of paint.
The ice cubes were created using the circle shape tool. I clicked randomly around the cup and dragged the circle to my desired size.
I added the text by clicking on the text tool and dragging out a textbox. I typed my content in the textbox and then adjusted the font and size using the font toolbar directly above the textbox.
My last step was to click “File” in the top right corner, hover over “Save As,” choose “JPEG,” and then save it to my computer with my desired file name.
