HISTORIC DISTRICTS FOR LOWER MORELAND

Lower Moreland High School Swim and Dive teams left their mark at LaSalle University’s Kirk Pool this past weekend in the 2018 PIAA District 1 AA Championships.

The boy’s team, lead by individual District Champions Connor Killion, Chris Kelly and Tommy Lutter, earned 1 District Team Championship (the team’s 4^th consecutive title), 2 District Records, 3 School Records, 6 District Champions and many State qualifiers & Personal Records. Earning All-District honors for LMHS was Killion, Kelly, Lutter, Ben Aust, Alex Yoon, Colin Shipp, Dan Shevelev, Noah Ferker, Eddie Barton, Jaden Feldman, and Michael Watanabe.

SWIMMER OF THE MEET- CONNOR KILLION

The girls team was led by All-District swimmer Sam Becker, now the 2^nd fastest 200 and 500 Freestyler in school history, who helped guide her 200 Free Relay along with Emily Vaidyan, Grace Dudek, Abby Hwan to earn a new school record. Yuval Levi ended up earning All-District honors in 1M Diving. The girl’s team had 100% Personal Records, and finished in 8^th place, their highest place in over ten years.

SWIMMER OF THE MEET- SAM BECKER

LOWER MORELAND BRINGS HOME FIRST STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Led by All-State swimmers and point scorers Chris Kelly, Connor Killion, Tommy Lutter, Ben Aust, Alex Yoon, and Colin Shipp, Lower Moreland earned it's first-ever Team Championship. Aust, Kelly, Lutter, and Killion were State Champions and earned All-American Consideration in the 200 Medley Relay while Kelly, Shipp, Lutter, and Killion were State Champions and earned All-American Consideration in the 400 Free Relay. Chris Kelly earned third place in the 200 IM and was State Runner-up in the 100 Breast while Connor Killion was State Runner-up in the 200 Free and added a fourth place finish in the 100 Back. Tommy Lutter ended third in the state in the 100 Fly, Alex Yoon added a sixth place in the 200 IM, and Ben Aust finished thirteenth in the 100 Back. The 200 Free Relay of Aust, Shipp, Yoon, and Lutter finished fourth in the state.

TEAM POLICY REMINDERS:

~LMHS Swimmers and divers should attend all competitions.

~LMHS Swimmers and divers who are unable to attend a dual meet should email krmcnear@gmail.com at least three days in advance.

~LMHS/LMTSD provides transportation (from and back to Lower Moreland High School).

~LMHS Swimmers and divers are to travel as a team on the assigned bus to away meets and may only travel home, after asking a LMHS S & D coach, with a parent/guardian after the competition has been completed (a LMHS S & D coach will need to see the parent/guardian prior to leaving).

~LMHS Swimmers and divers are expected to be picked-up within five minutes upon returning to the school from a meet.
