Since 2018, Peter Liengnaboune and his father have spent USD $38,000 of their personal funds to build this school, little by little, everyday. It is now 75% complete.
The original plan was to have the school completed in 2023, but because of various financial constraints including the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the high inflation rate and the depreciation of the Laotian Kip, the construction of the school has come to a virtual standstill. Although the inflation rate has come down, the prices have remained high.
In 2026, we still have the hope to open the class in september but we are running of time and fund to continue to build the school.
Because of the scale of this project, the LLCC writed a grant proposal with the help of an American guy, in order to apply for the many grants available from major international organizations which support large-scale education projects around the world such as Rotary International.
We recently learned that he passed away suddenly a few months ago. Since then, Peter has been doing his best to find a way forward on his own — and that is exactly why your support matters more than ever.
The process of being awarded a grant is not done overnight. It takes many months. In order to keep the work on this project moving forward, the LLCC is using crowdfunding platforms such as Gofundme.
