Llanidloes Croquet Club would like to thank the Bryn Blaen Community Wind Fund for their generous donation towards our shed replacement project.
Today saw our final club game for 2025. We are now busy cleaning the clubhouse and preparing everything for the winter. That's not to say we aren't doing anything. We are still busy as a club with planned coffee mornings and, of course, our Christmas Party (in January!). Watch this space for more new throughout the winter.
Today saw a hard fought competition for the clubs Presidents Shield 2025.
The day was made up of 12 preliminary rounds, followed by two semi-finals rounds and then the final, with David & Philip winning 7 games to 4 against Gill & Adrian.
Congratulations to the winning and well done to all competitors with special thanks going to the organisers of the day.
Today Llanidloes Croquet Club had the honour of hosting the Welsh Croquet Association Golf Croquet Championship Finals. The day was full of wonderful croquet play with Glamorgan CC winning 7 games to 5 over Llanfairfechan. Congratulations go to both teams reaching the finals. See photo album for more photos.
Llanidloes Croquet Club enjoyed a friendly away day to Llandovery today, with Llandovery winning 11 games to 5. Thanks go to Llandovery Croquet Club for a great day.

Well done to Llanidloes Croquet Club who progressed through to the FINAL of the West Midlands Federation Dave Piggot 6+ Golf Croquet Cup despite loosing to Eardisley today, Llanidloes went through on bonus points. Todays match was won by Eardisley 11 games to 7, a much closer match when you see it was 104 hoops to 100, again to Eardisley. Congratulations to Eardisley for the win and thanks for hosting a great day.
Congratulations to the Llanidloes Croquet team who today played Eardisley in the latest round of the West Midland Federation Dave Piggot 6+ Cup and won 12 games to 6. We had good opponents who we play again next week away at their lawns. Well done to Gill, Wendy, Adam and David
It was a wonderful sunny day for our in-house tournament. After twelve games the final came down to Adrian & Bernard and Rose & Adam, with Adrian & Bernard winning the day. Congratulations to them and to everyone at the club for putting on such an enjoyable day.

Another wonderful catchup with our friends from Aberdyfi Croquet Club who traveled to Llanidloes today. The intermittent rain didn't damped our spirits with everyone having a great time. Aberdyfi won the day, 28 points to 23 with 85 hoops each.
Today saw a friendly match at home to Aberystwyth. Whilst the morning weather wasn't the best the warmth of friendship shone through. A thoroughly enjoyable day with Llanidloes winning 93 hoops to 75.
When you play croquet, one of the main things you need is a decent lawn. The lawns at Llanidloes Croquet Club are definitely up there. However, what you don’t need are crows taking advantage of the fertile ground! So, meet our latest deterrent, our very own red kite kite!

Today we travelled for a friendly away match at Eardisley. The weather was very kind with bright sun with gentle breeze. Eardisley were extremely welcoming, as always, and we all had a great, competitive but friendly few games throughout the day. Eardisley won the day, 5 games to 3.
We would like to thank Llanidloes Rotary for their kind donation. We have used the money to improve our lawn maintenance equipment.
Llanidloes continues its journey in the Welsh Golf Croquet Championships, this time playing Glamorgan at the Llandovery lawns. It was a great days play but Glamorgan won, 15 games to 5.
Llanidloes had the pleasure of playing a wonderful friendly game, away at Aberdyfi, winning 90 hoops to 88. It was a great days play followed by plenty of homemade cake!
Today we had the pleasure of hosting over 200 pupils from Llanidloes Junior School who were taking part in the schools sports experience day. We certainly enjoyed hosting and introducing the pupils to the game of croquet.
Today saw a fantastic friendly at home against Aberdyfi. The weather was perfect for a game of croquet and everyone enjoyed themselves. Llanidloes won, 19-13, 86 hoops to 80.
4 players from the club played a competitive match against Mumbles at Llandovery. Mumbles won on the day 129 hoop to 97, 31 games to 9. Congratulation to Mumbles and well done to the Llanidloes players for playing so well.
Wonderful friendly against away match against Aberdyfi, with Aberdyfi achieving a narrow win of 8-7, with 1 draw.
The WMF 6+ 2024 Final took place at Himley Hall where Llanidloes played Kenilworth. We are please to report Llanidloes WON !!!
Start to 2025 and the lawns are looking amazing!!
