Emergency Plan - In the case of inclement weather in which anyone feels unsafe, they may retreat to Confederation Lodge, where your group registered. If weather becomes extremely inclement, the camp staff will coordinate with emergency services for evacuation as required.
Medical - Please speak to any staff member for assistance. If the unfortunate situation arises where someone must go to the hospital, Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital which is located at 3001 Hospital Gate, Oakville, ON (map included in registration package).
Indoor Facilities – Camp Nemo does have cabins on site, but staff has only booked the Confederation and BP Lodges for staff and event purposes. If groups would like to book a cabin, they have to do so on their own. To book you may use Scouts Canada’s Double Knot Booking System for Camp Nemo. The cabins are first come first serve and staff is not involved in the booking process. If you would like to split cabins with other groups, you are responsible for that, but we can put blasters out on our social media if you ask nicely!
Fires – Fires are allowed on site at the firepits that are available throughout camp, but we ask you refrain from using the main fire pit (refer to map) on Saturday afternoon as we will be using it for the camp-wide campfire and awards presentation. All fires must have a full bucket of water accompanying them, and must be fully extinguished if you leave camp, or go to sleep.
Water and Kybos - If you need potable water there is a tap on Confederation Lodge. Kybos are available throughout. Please refrain from using the indoor facilities in the staff cabins as it would be highly unfavourable for everyone should the septic system overflow.
Leaving Camp – For whatever reason, and length of time you have to leave camp, you must fill out the sign-out form that is with registration within Confederation Lodge. If a member of staff sees you leaving without doing so, you will be asked to return to the cabin to do so.
Departure – In order to receive your crests, please ensure your campsite is cleaner that you found it and report to registration for inspection. A staff member will review your campsite with you, and make sure that we have recorded your mailing address so you can receive your crests. Please take all garbage with you on your departure
Campsites – Please refrain from camping in the middle of the fields, unless you would like the Saturday events to be played through your tents. There is ample room around the edges of the fields.
Parking – Do not drive your vehicles on the grass, you may not be able to remove it afterwards. We ask that you comply with parking staff as they direct you where to drive and park.
Sex, Alcohol and Drugs – As per Scouts Canada Policy. If you are caught participating in, in possession of, or under the influence of any of these items or activities, you will be asked to leave camp immediately. Despite changes in Canadian Law regarding the legalization of marijuana, the substance is still not allowed on Scouts Canada property, nor can you be under its influence while on site and you will still be asked to leave.
Damage – Groups are expected to report any damage to the camp and/or its facilities.
General Rules – All groups using Mount Nemo Scout Camp, and associated activities, are subject to and bound by the Bylaws, Policies and Procedures as established by Scouts Canada. All attendees are expected to comply with requests from the staff. If there are any disputes, please request the Camp Chief to mediate. Be mindful of those around you, remember the scouting spirit and make sure that everyone is having fun!
