I have over 14 years' experience in applying behavioural science in the private and public sector. I specialise in applying insights from behavioural science to accelerate the transition to net zero and drive sustainable behaviours.
I have advised clients on sustainable behaviour change challenges such as:
driving the uptake of heat pumps,
implementing building decarbonisation and energy efficiency measures
how global companies can reduce food waste.
I am expert in methodologies to understand behaviour, using qualitative and quantitative research to conduct behavioural diagnosis and behavioural audits, also developing a unique behaviour triage tool. I also have further experience in behavioural design and solutions, workshop design and facilitation.
I've worked with global clients including Allianz, GSK, Oxfam, Lilly, Diageo, Zurich, and eBay. My work with Oxfam developed a handwashing stand for refugee camps that significantly improved hygiene practices, with over 6,400 units deployed or ordered globally by 2021.
Previously, I was Director of Global Behavioural Intelligence at The Behavioural Architects, a multi-award winning global company focused on applying insights from the behavioural sciences to help organisations understand and influence decision making and behaviour. I joined the company in 2011 as their first employee and led behavioural science applications for 13 years, helping launch further offices in Sydney and Shanghai.
I have co-authored over 300 articles and short books on behavioral science application and is Co-Lead of the Bescy Environmental Hub and co-Founder of the Scottish Behavioural Science Network.
I hold an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford and a BA in Economics from the University of Cambridge. Currently a PhD Candidate at the University of Stirling, I research how to leverage behavioural science to drive low carbon technology adoption.
