《紅燒肉》是一個關於時間的演出計畫。《紅燒肉》顧名思義,就是一個在現場展演中燉煮一鍋紅燒肉的演出。在近兩個小時的演出中,讓表演者與觀眾一起等待紅燒肉燉煮完成。重點不在於完成,而是等待燉煮的過程所喚起感官以及食物所帶來的記憶。而這場表演就在於呈現當「等待」成為目的之時,人會做哪些事情來度過這段有點無聊又有點興奮的時光。
Braised Pork Belly is a performance project about time, inspired by a common dish with the same name, which almost always brings out some memories in each of us in Taiwan. A pot of pork belly is, as the name of the program suggests, cooked slowly, live in front of an audience. The emphasis is not on the result but the process — the sensory experiences and memories evoked during the an-hour-and-half wait. It is about showcasing what people do to pass the time during a slightly dull yet somewhat exciting wait when waiting is the main purpose of the performance.
