〈메타 헨즈〉는 VR 속 가상과 현실의 공간 사이에서 머뭇거리는 안무가의 신체를 다루며, 우리의 감각이 가상과 현실의 편재된 공간 속으로 흩어질 때 지금 여기, 무대 위의 공동체는 과연 어떻게 가능한지 질문한다. 서로 다른 감각과 경험 속에서 무엇을 공통의 기억이라 부를 수 있을까? 이러한 불확정성에서 유동하는 신체를 과거와 같은 종으로서 사유할 수 있을까? 작가는 VR 기계를 매개로 가상과 신체의 부조화와 불완전한 동기화를 환영하면서도, 여전히 보이지 않는 그 손을 잡기 위해 시도한다.

Metahands deals with the choreographer's body wavering between the virtual space in VR and the space in reality. The work questions how the ‘here and now’ or the community on the stage can exist, when our senses are scattered to spaces spread out across the virtual and the real. From these myriads of senses and experiences, what could be considered the ‘common memory’? Can we consider the contemporary human body that fluctuates around this uncertainty to belong to the same species of the past? While welcoming the incongruity and the incomplete synchronization between the virtual and the physical body in the VR medium, the artist continues to strive to conjoin the two on the other.

퍼포먼스 〈Liquid Bodies〉는 고정적이지 않고, 끊임없이 변화하고, 움직이며 흘러가는 신체에 대한 감각을 사운드와 비주얼, 신체와 오브제의 움직임으로 표현하는 퍼포먼스다. 이러한 유동성(liquidity)은 여성, 퀴어, 논바이너리의 신체를 가진 레지스터 코리아의 작업과 활동방식을 설명할 수 있는 단어이기도 하다. 

실험적인 사운드에 관심을 가지고 함께 모여 즉흥 연주(jam)를 하는 것은 레지스터 코리아의 핵심적인 정체성이라 할 수 있다. 멤버들이 각기 다른 정체성과 작업 방식을 가지고 있는 만큼, 이들이 소리를 감각하는 방식 역시 다채롭다. 전자음악과 어쿠스틱 연주, 그림 그리기와 영상 매핑, 목소리와 몸의 움직임은 한 공간에 모여 소리를 만들고, 소리를 감각하며, 소리에 대한 경험을 나눈다. 자유롭게 흩어지고 모이며 흘러가는 몸들은 유연하지만 강인하며, 종잡을 수 없지만 에너지가 넘친다. 레지스터 코리아의 퍼포먼스는 구체적으로 짜인 서사보다는 예측 불가능하게 흘러가는 유동성을 따르며, 관객들을 ‘흐르는 몸들’과 함께 하기를 초대한다.

Liquid Bodies is an audio-visual performance that uses sound, visuals, and the movement of bodies and objects to express a sense of the body as something that is not fixed, but constantly changing, moving, and flowing. Liquidity is also a word that can describe the work and practice of Re#sister Korea, whose members have female, queer, and non-binary bodies.

Gathering together to improvise and jam with an interest in experimental sound is the core identity of Re#sister Korea. With different identities and working methods, the members of Re#sister Korea have diverse ways of coming together and perceiving sound. Electronic and acoustic music, drawing and video mapping, voice and body movements come together in one space to make sound, sense sound, and share experiences of sound. Bodies freely disperse, converge, and flow in the process of improvisation, flexible yet strong, indefinite yet energetic. Rather than following a specific narrative, Re#sister Korea's performance follows the unpredictable flow of liquidity and invites the audience to join the Liquid Bodies.

키라라의 음악을 실시간으로 분해하고 조립하는 과정을 퍼포먼스의 형태로 풀어내어 상연한다. 큰 음량의 댄스음악을 연주하며, 관객들은 키라라가 구성한 소리의 ‘치고 빠짐’을 경험하며 그곳에서 카타르시스를 느낀다.

The process of disassembling and assembling Kirara's music in real time is unraveled and performed in the form of a performance. Playing a loud volume of dance music, the audience experiences the "hit and miss" of the sound constructed by Kirara and feels catharsis there.

12.1-2(금-토)에 진행되는 워크숍 〈몸짓을 글쓰기〉에서 발생한 춤, 글, 목소리를 섞어 연습하기/만들기의 과정을 통과하여, 쇼케이스의 맥락 안에서 퍼포밍을 연습하기의 과정으로 나아갑니다.

Through the mixture of dance, writing, and voice that occurred in the workshop Textualizing The Dance, we proceed to practicing the performance within the context of the showcase.
