At their baptism, people are anointed ³prophet, priest, and king,² and they are commissioned to share in Jesus¹ mission to preach, sanctify, and rule.
People are prophets, they preach in the sense that they are called to share their faith. This they may do within the Church, where they may be called upon to teach or witness, or outside the Church, in homes, offices, or even on a bus. Of course, people share their faith best by living it‹by being joyful, peaceful, and by loving (cf. p.127).
People are priests, they sanctify in the sense that they are recognized as rightful participants in the Church¹s prayer. In some circumstances, they are called to lead prayer. Of course, people also sanctify, they bring God into the world, whenever they show love, and especially when they pray for and with others.
People are kings, they rule as the rightful leaders of their own lives and families. As ministers and people whose opinions have a right to be heard, they also participate in the leadership of the Church. Of course, they also lead by their example, and their decisions about what to buy, watch, and wear.

En su bautismo, las personas son ungidas como “profeta, sacerdote y rey”, y se les encarga participar en la misión de Jesús de predicar, santificar y gobernar.
Las personas son profetas, predican en el sentido de que están llamadas a compartir su fe. Esto lo pueden hacer dentro de la Iglesia, donde pueden ser llamados a enseñar o testificar, o fuera de la Iglesia, en hogares, oficinas o incluso en un autobús. Por supuesto, la gente comparte mejor su fe si la vive: gozosa, pacífica y ama (cf. p.127).
Las personas son sacerdotes, santifican en el sentido de que se les reconoce como legítimos participantes en la oración de la Iglesia. En algunas circunstancias, están llamados a dirigir la oración. Por supuesto, las personas también santifican, traen a Dios al mundo, siempre que muestran amor, y especialmente cuando oran por y con los demás.
Las personas son reyes, gobiernan como los legítimos líderes de sus propias vidas y familias. Como ministros y personas cuyas opiniones tienen derecho a ser escuchadas, también participan en el liderazgo de la Iglesia. Por supuesto, también lideran con su ejemplo y sus decisiones sobre qué comprar, mirar y ponerse.
