The Indoor play space is full of screen-free, hands-on activities that encourage imagination and creativity. Children can explore Little People play sets, build with blocks and magnetic tiles, read books, care for dolls, or play with cars and other toys from our ever-growing collection. There’s always something new to discover and enjoy, making play both fun and meaningful.
The multi-purpose room is a flexible space for learning, creativity, and quiet time. Children participate in hands-on activities and guided lessons that introduce foundational themes such as colours, shapes, letters, numbers, animals, and more. During lunch and snack times, the room is cleaned and set up for eating. For nap time, tables are folded away, creating a calm and comfortable rest area for all children to nap.
One of the biggest concerns when leaving your child in someone else’s care is safety. At Little Adventurers Independent Daycare, I take every precaution to create a secure environment that gives parents peace of mind.
As of February 2026, the safety features in place include:
Multiple cameras installed throughout the interior and exterior of the home.
Outlet covers on all accessible electrical outlets, with plugged-in items kept limited and safely tucked away.
Baby gates installed in key areas to ensure children remain safely within the designated daycare space.
½-inch thick interlocking foam play mats installed throughout the daycare area to provide added cushioning in the event of a fall.
A front door notification system with an audio alert when the door is unlocked. The door remains locked at all times after parents enter and exit.
Foam padding installed on the window sill to help prevent head injuries.
Your child’s safety is always my top priority, and the daycare space is continuously reviewed to ensure it remains safe, secure, and child-friendly.
The backyard backs on to green space and has a large play area where little ones can run, climb, and explore, including play structures and a sand bin. Outdoor time also includes frequent walks around the neighborhood and nearby trails, taking time to notice and explore the world around us. We use our wonderful wagon to safely transport younger children, and a first aid kit along with emergency contact sheet are always with us for safety.
In the summer, outdoor adventures are even bigger! In addition to our regular walks, we go on weekly big walks to a nearby park and enjoy a variety of fun outdoor activities, and go on field trips when attendance is low, giving children plenty of opportunities to play, explore, and learn in the fresh air.
There are two friendly cats in our home, Nero and Lily. During daycare operating hours, they remain on the other side of the house and are not in the daycare area. However, as they are part of our household, children may occasionally see them or pass by them when going to and from the bathroom.
On days when the weather is rainy, below -15°C with wind chill, above 27°C with high humidity, or when there is an air quality or weather warning, children will remain indoors for their safety and comfort.
